Architect Dan Maples designed The Pearl Golf Links to take advantage of the surrounding "unspoiled, natural beauty" and to provide golfers with two distinct, challenging tracks.

The East Course is a traditional layout that runs through a pristine forest while the West Course is an open, links style course.

We are not sure if The Pearl Golf Links live up to "Jewel" status but we can safely say that most golfers consider these two tracks a good addition to any golf vacation in Myrtle Beach.
In fact, we heard from one person who has repeatedly booked tee times at both the East and West courses every year when he returns to the Grand Strand.
Occasionally we heard a minor complaint that the greens might tend to be a bit slow and that The Pearl Golf Links raised rates a while back.
But then again, we also heard that the facilities had been upgraded and that the service was top-notch. So it seems owners of The Pearl pumped that rate increase back into the golf courses.
